Introduction of AINP
The Alberta Provincial Nominee Program is an employer-driven program. A provincial nominee must have a guaranteed job offer with a pre-approved employer in Alberta to be eligible for the program.
Individuals nominated by the Province of Alberta, together with their spouse and dependent children, are eligible to apply for a permanent resident visa through CIC as a Provincial Nominee. CIC expedites permanent resident applications from Provincial Nominees and makes final decisions on the permanent resident applications.
Applicants can move to Alberta if they have an offer from employment from a company of AlbertaProvince. Many Canadian provinces have this type of provincial nomination programmes in place, each with their own qualification requirements and processes.
In Canada, visa applications for Alberta immigration will progress through the following Steps.
An employer completes an employer application form to show the need to recruit from outside the domestic workforce.
This is submitted to Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry to be assessed.
Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry reviews the employer application and recommends it to the Nominee Programme.
If the employer application receives approval, employees wishing to migrate to Alberta can be recruited.
A job offer is made at this stage of the process.
If the potential employee is approved, they may apply for permanent residency in Canada.
This programme is an employer led initiative and applicants cannot apply themselves.
